Athletic Training

Kim Jaramillo, ATC, Head Athletic Trainer

Kim Jaramillo begins her seventh year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Hope International University.

Prior to Hope, Kim worked as a graduate assistant at California State University Chico (CSUC). While at CSUC, she was assigned to the women's soccer, basketball and volleyball teams. At Hope, she is responsible for the prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries that occur for all nine Hope athletic teams.

For five summers, Kim served as an athletic trainer for the NBC basketball camps hosted on Hope's campus in Fullerton, CA and Simpson University's campus in Redding, CA. When called upon, she fills in as a discussion group leader at the camps as well.

Kim decided to combine her love for athletics and medicine as a career in athletic training when she was a student at Lake Forest College in Illinois. While playing as a soccer midfielder and softball catcher/outfielder, she became very appreciative of the athletic trainers that worked so hard to keep the athletes healthy.

In 2001, Kim earned a Bachelors of Arts in Biology with a minor in sociology and anthropology from Lake Forest College. She completed her Master's degree in Physical Education with an Athletic Training Option from CSUC in 2004.

Kim resides with her husband, Alex, and daughter, Bella, in Corona, CA. The Jaramillo's are active members of Crossroads Christian Church in Corona, CA.
