1/30/10 - Royals Fall in Season Opener

Whittier, CA- The Royals opened their season with a 9-0 loss at the hands of Whittier. The doubles team of Senior Kristine Brock and Freshman Brittany Shaffer had the best showing as they lost their match 8-4.

Brock played a tough #1 singles match with Kady Oliker. But the breaks went in Oliker’s favor as she won 6-3 and 6-3.

Shaffer took a game in her first collegiate match but she fell 6-1, 6-0 at #2 singles.

The Royals fall to 0-1 while the Poets improve to 2-0.

Next Saturday, the Royals will go head to head with in Caltech in Pasadena.
