11/3/09 - Edgar Bran Named All-GSAC
Fullerton, CA-Freshman Forward Edgar Bran was named to the 2009 Men’s Soccer All-GSAC Team as announced today by the Golden State Athletic Conference.
Bran led the GSAC in scoring with 15 goals and was tied for third with 9 assists.
Bran, from La Habra, CA, opened his scoring for the season with 4 goals against Southwestern (AZ) which started a seven game scoring streak.
His best two goals came in the form of free kicks. Against Fresno Pacific, he hit a laser shot from forty plus yards out from the left side of the field that was still going up when it went into the top corner on the right side and gave the Royals lead. Against Biola, his second goal of the day was a shot from outside the box that tied the score at 2-2.
Head Coach Joe Lurker said, “By leading the GSAC in goals and points as a Freshman, I am excited to see what the future holds for Edgar. As a natural goal scorer, he is a diamond in the rough, and we look forward to building our team around him for three more years.”
The Royals finished the season with a 6-8-4 record including 1-7-2 in conference play.>> Back to Men's Soccer Home Page
