Athletic Director Aaron Siefker stated, “We are excited to add a coach of Bill Crammer’s caliber.  Bill’s success on the court and reputation in the Southern California basketball community will help build on the Women’s Basketball foundation already established at Hope International.”

In his twenty plus seasons of coaching, Coach Crammer has never had a team post a losing season. In fact at WCHS, his teams have won of 64% of their games.

The 2007 and 2008 seasons accounted for over half of the wins in Crammer’s WCHS career with final records of 24-7 and 24-8.  Not surprising, those are the two years that the Heralds won CIF and advanced to the State playoffs.  Crammer was named Southern Section Divisional and Whittier Area Coach of the Year for his team’s efforts.

Even with fourteen players earning Alpha/Olympic League honors and twelve All-Division honors, Crammer is most proud of the numerous students that have left his program to go on to college.

“I am excited to be able to compete in the GSAC (Golden State Athletic Conference),” proclaimed Crammer.  “I am looking forward to the competition and bringing Hope International up a notch or two.  I will be looking to return to the GSAC playoffs and then hopefully the NAIA tournament.”

Referring to coaching in high school versus college, Crammer said, “I look forward to recruiting my own players.”

Though Coach Crammer is stepping down from coaching at Whittier Christian, he will remain as the Business Administrator- a title he has held since 2006. He taught Math and Business classes for WCHS during the 2005-2006 school year.

Prior to Whittier Christian, Crammer has served in numerous coaching positions at Downey High School (his alma mater) and Valley Christian High School.  He owned a successful private accounting business from 1992-2005.

Educationally, Crammer has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from California State University Fullerton.  He is currently enrolled in the Coaching and Athletic Administration Masters program at Concordia University Irvine.

Coach Crammer and his wife, Regina, reside in La Habra with three of their seven children still living at home.  The Crammers attend Whittier Area Community Church.
